Every Superman needs a little Cryptonite

I had a strange realization today. You know how all superheros have a weakness - like Superman with Cryptonite? Well, I think that because my life with Rod is "super"...it had to come with a little cryptonite. And what may that be, you ask? Well, it's not health...that is only temporary. It's not fighting...we get along well most of the time. It is WATER!!!! :) That wonderful combination of hydrogen and oxygen that makes life possible on this rock we call home. I think it is out to get me. The first winter Rod and I spent together in our first house here in Utah...the pipes froze. Then that first summer the hose connecting the the hot water to the sink just came off sometime in the wee hours of the morning, and we woke up to a swimming pool in the kitchen and down the hall. Water has tried to drown John and TeAnna on a number of occasions (so far Tae seems to be immune to that one). More frozen pipes. The tub quit draining one time and the pipe snake went down the drain and out one of the kitchen drawers on the other side of the wall! Lift up the floor only to find a pool under the bathroom (and no foundation in that spot of the house, I might add)! So, we move out to Roy. No more frozen pipes...(yay!) but every time it rains TeAnna's closet gets a washing. One Saturday morning we woke up to a burst hose on the washing machine and a small pool in the basement! Or the time when our swamp cooler (that is on top of the house) decided to not retain water anymore and dumped it all down onto the hall! (that happened more than once) Then, with this recent deluge the last few days...I go down to TeAnna's room this morning and it is soaked! Not just a little in the closet....but the whole room! Our shop-vac pulled up some 15 gallons before my arms fell off and I had to take a break! Well, at least her carpet is clean now! (I added some carpet cleaner to the rainwater...clever, huh?)

Ok, I'm done venting now. Thanks for listening! Now, back to our new basement swimming pool!!!!!
