Happy Halloween!!!!

Jack o Lanterns!!! TeAnna and Rod made the cute traditional one, Tae made a Cyclops (all by himself, by the way), and I made the skull.  John got tired of cleaning out the pumpkin guts and didn't want to finish, so I just carved out a quick cat.  I really do love the smell of pumpkins, especially when you light them and you get that smoky, burnt-pumpkiny smell.

Halloween has always been fun, but it is even more fun when you have kids to dress up!  John is Darth Vader, Tae is a Ninja, and TeAnna is Ariel.  Darth and the Ninja were pretty easy to pull together, but Ariel took a bit longer.  TeAnna is not blessed with gorgeous, long, red hair like her aunt Dasi, and we had a heck of a time finding that red wig.  It was to the point that I was headed to the store to buy haircolor....but I stopped at a Family Dollar on the way and we found the wig!!!   She was so excited!!!   And very cute, too, I might add.   We all had a great time!  Tons of candy.

Our ward had a Trunk or Treat a few nights before Halloween, so I went as the Phantom of the Opera.  We took a black tarp and covered up the walls of the back of Eddie (our car).  And since the Phantom is not complete without a chandalier, Rod was creative enough to figure out how to get a huge one in Eddie!!!!!   It fit right under the dome light so it looked like it was on, and I had the Phantom music playing.   We even had a little Beanie Baby monkey on the candy box, but he had run off by the time we got to the pictures.

The best part about this costume is people's reaction to it.  I love walking through stores on Halloween all dressed up, and on Saturday night we were going to Rod's sister's and Dad's house to show off the kids, and on the way we stopped at a few stores to find some fake tattoo sleeves for Rod.  WalMart was fun....a little kid about 7 came up to me and said, "You are crazy".  When I asked him why, he responded that I only had a half mask on, and that it should be either a full mask or no mask at all.  Then in ShopKo I walked up behind a guy (probably in his 30's) and when he turned to let me pass he jumped and let out an "Oh Crap!"  Last stop was Halloween City.  Finally found the tattoo sleeves there, and while I was looking around I walked up behind a little 2 or 3 year old boy.  He was looking around at all the grotesque masks, fake blood, werewolves, etc., and was just fine, but when he saw me he burst into tears and ran away screaming for his mommy.  It was so funny!   All those terrible, frightening images in that store and he is scared of me!

So, it was a fun Halloween.  Carved Jack-O-Lanters, dressed up, had tons of candy, and lots of good times.  Now.....On to CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   WOOO  HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
